Introduction
This price guide has been put together from information passed on to
us from our customers. At present most of the information relates to
African countries - as we receive more information we will add it to
this resource.
In some countries inflation means that this data will rapidly become
dated - please bear this in mind, and look at the dates for each
submission.
Crossing Europe and the Middle East
Prices in continental Europe are generally cheaper than the UK, with
Gibraltar offering duty free fuel.
Beware of Turkey, which matches UK prices - fill up in Greece or
Syria; the latter has very cheap fuel indeed. When you arrive at the
Turkish border customs may well ask you about any fuel reserves you are
carrying. Needless to say, Saudi Arabia charges next to nothing for
fuel, though Jordan is more expensive.
Other Resources
WELTREISE-FORUM has various price postings in German - This is
pretty up-to-date, and it's not too difficult to use even if you don't
understand German; but you'll need to know that petrol is 'benzin', and
diesel is 'diesel'.
